Kate possesses a strong background in mental health and support services, having volunteered at Margaret Ann’s Place where she gained significant experience in grief therapy and co-facilitated grief groups. Her role at the Oconomowoc Development Training Center involved caring for children and adolescents with mental health and developmental disorders. During her internship with Walworth County Health and Human Services, she various groups, including those focused on parenting and addiction recovery. Furthermore, Kate has spent years working with the Kenosha County Department of Child and Family Services, concentrating on trauma, substance abuse, and parenting for adjudicated youth and their families. She also gained experience at Rogers Memorial Hospital in multiple departments, including substance abuse and trauma care for adolescents. Kate has since refined her expertise to focus on assisting adults dealing with past trauma.

Natalie Freriks, MSW, APSW

Natalie is an advanced practice social worker who utilizes an eclectic approach with clients through individual therapy, and IOP (intensive outpatient program for mental health). She earned her master of social work degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

As a social worker, Natalie uses a holistic lens, recognizing the factors impacting clients at multiple levels. She meets clients where they are, while assisting them in discovering their strengths. Meghan Janer, LPC-IT, SAC-IT

Meghan believes that we all struggle with something and having someone to listen to you nonjudgmentally and provide thoughtful support can make an incredibly positive impact on your life. Meghan has experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and mental health disorders. She believes that every client’s healing journey is unique and aspires to support clients in discovering what works for them, including healthy coping skills, emotion regulation skills, hobbies, support systems, and goals.

Over the past 9 years, I have worked with individuals who are opioid dependent at a medication assisted treatment program in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mawsoof Ali, Intern

Mawsoof is a second-year student in the counseling psychology PhD program at Marquette University. He is an intern at West Grove Clinic and assists with the implementation of the intensive outpatient program. He is also a member of the Watan Collective under the mentorship of Dr. Rawan Atari-Khan. Prior to beginning his PhD, he received his B.S. in Psychological Sciences from Ball State University and worked as an R15 Project Coordinator at Western Kentucky University. He is broadly interested in the mental health of minoritized groups and the impact of systemic oppression on mental health. More specifically, he is passionate about the mental health of Muslims, South Asians, immigrants, and refugees and developing culturally sensitive interventions for these communities. Christopher Zelinski, Intern

Chris is an intern and student pursuing his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marquette University as well as a certification in substance abuse counseling. As a counselor-in-training, Chris utilizes a client-centered and client-empowering approach to counseling that incorporates the knowledge, experiences, values, and perspectives of each individual client. He is also passionate about helping those recovering from addiction and substance abuse and emphasizes the importance and value of support systems and connection throughout the journey of recovery.

Chris focuses on an individualized approach to counseling striving to empower each client to take the lead and direct sessions toward the issues they feel are most relevant to their recovery and growth. In this process, he utilizes and draws from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), while incorporating aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Chris also has a deep interest in trauma processing and healing modalities and intends to pursue certifications in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as well as Schema Therapy (ST) post- graduation. Overall, Chris aims to create a safe, supportive, nonjudgmental, and empathetic therapeutic environment for each and every client.
