Carolyn Morris, LCSW-SASD, CIR
As a clinical therapist, I have a lot of energy to get you where you want to go. I spend much of my time with clients who are concerned about addictions and with couples who are struggling in their relationships. I take on many roles to assist my clients. I can be your sideline coach, helping you call the shots in your life or I can be your cheerleader, encouraging you to continue making the changes you desire. My clients describe me as having a compassionate, no-nonsense style, so if you want a therapist who will be direct and up-front with you, I am a great match.
In my practice, I offer a variety of services tailored to your specific needs. Those services include individual, couples, group, and family sessions. I can also offer telephonic consultations, presentations for corporate training topics, management consultations, and workshops as needed.
I have a special interest in relationship issues and addictions, though I work with a wide variety of concerns. Those include:
- Trauma/PTSD
- Military Issues
- Mood Disorders
- Dual Diagnosis
- Teens/Adolescence Stresses
- Sexual Orientation Issues
- Parenting
- Anxiety Disorders
- Crisis Intervention - CISD/CISM
History:
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor Certificate in Criminal Justice. I then went on to get a Master of Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis. I obtained my LCSW license in St. Louis, and moved back to Wisconsin to continue my career in private practice, where I have been ever since. I have been trained for Critical Incident Response and feel good about the assistance I have offered to many local businesses in crisis. I have also obtained the Substance Abuse Specialty Designation from the State of Wisconsin and have incorporated that into my therapy practices. Those who know me well know that I enjoy working on a variety of crafty things and often pick up new hobbies quickly. I try to use this creativity in my work as a therapist as well.
