West Grove Clinic, LLC

Testimonials

My name is Lisa Mohr, and I'm co-executive director of West Grove Clinic, LLC; a mental health and integrative wellness clinic committed to healing the Mind, the Body and the Soul. West Grove Clinic also runs the only gender specific Intensive Outpatient Program for Drug and Alcohol addiction. We are also the only place in town that incorporates holistic approaches to Addiction, during their treatment. This includes chiropractic care, acupuncture, Emotional Freedom Technique, Reiki, Yoga, Tai chi, and more.

I am a former massage therapist myself, of 15 years. I have and continue to teach Reiki and intuitive development. Natural healing is something I am passionate about, but I am also very open to medication. Although I retired from Massage in July, 2 practitioners have taken over my practice at the clinic.

As we currently have 26 practitioners, and are very diverse in our modalities, I thought I would share a success story about one of our most special patients.

When I asked her if I could share her story, she told me that she would be honored.  Her name is Veronica.

Veronica came to West Grove Clinic from an EAP (Employee Assistance Program), back on October of 2008. Her husband had recently died of a sudden heart attack, leaving her with a 16 year old son, 13 year old daughter, and 5 year old son.

Veronica had insisted nearly immediately with her therapy that she was not interested in any medication to cope with this loss. During our monthly case consults, we anonymously discuss patient cases and suggested additional treatments. Unlike many institutions, our clinic does not merely pass a chart; we communicate with each other, to further their healing of the patient, utilizing the other modalities within our clinic.

I suggested Reiki treatments (which is the Japanese art of healing). At the time, I was still seeing patients for Reiki massage. Veronica came to see me often for treatments. It was hard. Sometimes she would just cry; other times, she would be very still; as though she were barely alive. It was painful for me to watch. Even with all of my belief s in the Holistic powers of healing, I still questioned her if she really wanted to go through this without any kind of anti-anxiety or anti-depressant. She said 'No; this is how I want to do it.’ And so she came to see me, and her pain lessoned each time. The Reiki Treatments gave her the feeling that medication would bring, a quiet calm that lasted for several days after she saw me. It was this treatment that kept her going threw that horrible first year without her soulmate.

Her daughter and oldest son started regular therapy with 2 other psychotherapists at the clinic; including Ellen Diedrich, our art therapist. The results have been phenomenal. So much healing has occurred with both children; somehow making this experience a growing one; for both of them.

Her youngest has taken Reiki for Kids twice now, and is about to take the third class; giving him purpose with an innate talent to connect with hurting people.

Veronica was once asked what one of her hobbies was and she replied, 'Coming to West Grove-I'm here all of the time!'. Between counseling appointments for herself and her children, massage Reiki treatments, yoga, Intention training, and Reiki training (She's about to take the Reiki

Mastership training in February), she's at the clinic all of the time.

Veronica shared with me in her life when there has been trauma, she shut down. She told me that during this past year that is one thing that has not happened to her. Currently, she has embarked on a new career change, largely due to her experience with Reiki and Massage; she is enrolled in a Massage therapy school.

When I asked Veronica for a testimonial, she said she had a story for me. Back in December, her therapist Anna Weaver asked her how she was holding up with the holidays. She said to Anna that she was fine, other than this year she had the realization while she was holiday shopping that she had to do it all alone.

A few days later, she was holiday shopping again, wandered into a bookstore, and when she was at the checkout there was an angel sitting on the counter that caught her eye; it read, 'You are NEVER alone'.

I took that in multiple ways; as did she.

West Grove clinic is unlike any clinic in this area. We are a combination of non-territorial psychiatrists, mental health therapists, and various holistic healers, beautifully blended under one roof. All of our contractors are self-employed promoting a positive and motivated work environment.

I am continuously humbled by the repeated success stories and feedback that I receive. Patients have shared they feel better the moment they walk into our building. "There is just something special about this place' they've told me.

Recently, we were featured in the Business Journal for our growth and success despite the economy. I believe that a good business is based on good service and quality care. If you know someone that is hurting emotionally, physically, or spiritually, send them to West Grove Clinic. We are committed to providing person centered healing in a safe and professional environment.

Thank you for listening. Lisa Mohr, Co-executive Director of West Grove Clinic, LLC; committed to Healing the Mind, the Body and the Soul.
